Sam Gryzb Interview

My name's Sam Gryzb (grizz-ubb), i'm 22 and I've been skating for 9 years.

What got you into skating ?
I went to France with my parents and their friends, and in the Dover ferry terminal i saw a Bart Simpson fishtail board.
My Mums friend saw that i liked it and decided to buy it for me.
I remember being in the French ferry terminal carpark and being pushed along by my Dad.... good fun !

When i got back i didn't really know what skaboarding was, or where or what you could do with it.
At first i used to push up and down our shitty stone path... and then i learned to drop down the curb at the end.
I think that was the point when i knew i was going to be in it for the long term !

....... so Bart Simpson got me into skating !

First videos you saw ?
Steve ( Buckley ) showed me Sorry and a 411VM - think it was an issue 20.

Favourite videos at the moment ?
I'm watching Cheese and Crackers, still blows me away.... and Fully Flared - Koston.

What are your other interests ?
snowboarding, playing video games - probably too many for my own good, taking photos and my acoustic guitar.

What do you get out of skateboarding ?
I need a bit of escapism, and its a good thing to focus on away from all the shit.
Its also something i get to have a free range of ideas with.
